Additional Introduction
Injection is one of the basic medical treatments in the hospital. But the dangers of syringes such like hepatitis C infection due to reuse of syringes and secondary infection of Ebola on medical personnel became a sensational social issue in 2015.
The common point of them was infection through blood.
Needlestick injury in the hospital is not a recent issue. It is reported that about 80% of medical personnel have experienced an injury by the syringe needle and that 17% of them have experienced the same over 5 times. The Needlestick Injury Surveillance System also reports that blood-borne infections are more than 20 and 1 out of 3 suffers hepatitis B.
We made a 3-way approach to prevent secondary infection by needlestick.
First, for the safety of the medical personnel we will not let them remove the needlestick with hands.
Second, we will improve the 3-shift 4D medical environment.
Third, we will get rid the patients of fear about reuse of syringes.
Our NRI has been developed to fulfill such purposes.
For the existing needle removers, you always have to hold the syringe with one hand to remove the needlestick. They used to cause needlestick injuries by the disposed needlesticks in the waste container.
We took safety as well as perfect needle removal into consideration. This is such a smart automated product that once you put the whole used syringe into the hole it will separate the needlestick from the syringe.
